Preview of Chorley v Curzon

Updated: Dec 14, 2022

Saturday will see The Nash make the short trip up to Lancashire as we take on Chorley in the National League North at the Victory Park Stadium.

Curzon should come into this one confident off the back of last Saturday’s 3-0 win at home to Telford. Adam Lakeland will be hoping that last weekend’s game will be a turning point for his side in the league. The Telford game was Curzon’s first league win in nearly a month, a run which has seen The Nash drop quickly down the table. However, a win against Chorley should push them right back up the table and ever closer to the playoff spots.

Chorley on the other hand have had a decent season so far and currently sit 11th in the table- just 5 points off the playoff places. They come into this one on the back of a disappointing 3-0 loss away to Banbury United last weekend. The hosts have won 3 of their last 5 league games, which has helped them recover from a sub-par start to the season.

Curzon will be without a number of players for Saturday’s clash. Craig Hobson will miss out due to the red card he picked up in the 2-0 loss to Blyth 11 days ago. Winger Ryan Hall has also struggled with in jury recently so is expected the miss out too. George Waring has missed the last few games however did a light warm up before the Telford match last week so could make the game in time.

The sides faced off twice last season with each side picking up the win in their respective home game. The Nash’s previous trip to Victory Park resulted in a 4-3 loss for the Nash in a very exciting game with Jack Dunne, Alex Curran and Tom peers all getting on the scoresheet.

Tickets are still available for the game and can be purchased from Chorley’s official website. Travel routes to to Chorley are also very accessible so let’s hope plenty of supporters can get down to Victory Park and get behind Adam and the lads!
