Inside the dressing room- Tom Peers

Updated: Jan 30, 2023

In this first instalment of a new feature on TheNashFans blog, I put a few questions to Curzon number 9, Tom Peers, about life at Curzon and today's game against Farsley.

Q: You recently hit 50 appearances in a Nash shirt, and must have some good memories for the club, but which has been your favourite?

A: It's a pleasure to make 50 appearances and I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. I think my favourite moment so far has been the FA cup run and particularly playing Cambridge in the first round at home.

Q: You scored your first goal in 9 games against Chester a couple of weeks ago, how much of a relief was it to get back on the scoresheet and does that give you the confidence to kick on again?

A: Massively. For a striker confidence is massive and you always want to be getting on the scoresheet as many times as possible. Football is all about appreciating the good and bad times and I hope that goal is the start of a run for me in the second half of the season.

Q: You’ve played with a number of different players in the front three this season, has that made it any harder to find consistent form?

A: As a player you are always happy to be on the pitch and play as much as possible and respect the managers decision, whether that means playing out of position or not playing at all. The most important thing is to give it everything when you get the chance in any position.

Q: The Nash currently sit in 18th, just 2 points off the relegation zone, just how confident are you that yourself, the gaffer and the other lads can turn it around?

A: Very confident. I think the group of lads we have got is far too good to be in the position we are and we need to start putting 3 points on the board consistently.

Q: What are you expecting from Farsley today?

A: Farsley is always a tough game. We know how they like to play and what their strengths and weaknesses are. We are looking for a massive performance and more importantly 3 points.

Huge thanks to Peersy for the interview. Please let me know your thoughts on this new series and recommend any Curzon players/staff you would like to hear from next!
