Curzon Ashton squad rundown 2023/24

The season is only a few days away so what better way to prepare than to run through this season's squad!

Cam Mason

Cam Mason is back for a second stint at the Nash having spent 2 years away playiong for Southport and Guiseley. The highly rated shot stopper has accumulated 171 appearances for Curzon previously, putting his name amongst Curzon greats.

Josh Ollerenshaw:

Josh is a very experienced keeper who has 100 appearances for the Nash. He provided great cover in the goalkeeping department last season and can be called on whenever necessary.

Jordan Richards

Jordan joined The Nash early in 2022 and was one of Adam’s first signings as Nash boss. He’s a dynamic full back known for his crossing and dead ball specialities.

Craig Mahon:

Craig is entering his fourth season at the Nash and second as club captain. He's a technically gifted midfielder but can also play on the wing or at all full back. His versatility means he's a regular starter for Lakeland's men.

Devon Matthews:

Devon is a tall commanding centre back who joined the Nash from Mossley last summer. He impressed massively in his first season at the club, picking up the director's player of the year award.

Marcus Poscha:

The 2023/24 season will be the start of Poscha’s 3rd season with the Nash. The young centre back is no stranger to a strong challenge and has developed a very strong partnership with Matthews and Waring at the back.

George Waring:

Despite signing as a striker in the the summer of 2022, George has regularly been used in a centre back role by the gaffer. His height allows him to dominate attackers. He's also very effective late on in games when the Nash are maybe chasing a goal or two.

Will Hayhurst:

Will Hayhurst joined Curzon lastsummer from Farsley Celtic, where he worked under current Curzon boss Adam Lakeland. He has made nearly 50 career appearances in League 1 playing for Preston North End. His preferred side is the left and will look to put good quality crosses into the box.

Alex Kenyon:

Alex joined the club this season from Chester. As former Chester captain, he has plenty of experience at this level. He is a defensive midfielder who can also play as a centre half when needed.

Adam Barton:

Adam was a mainstay in the Nash midfield all throughout last season. ‘Jesus’ has been capped previously for Northern Ireland and has picked up a number of appearances in the football league.

Sam Walker:

Sam has accumulated over 250 appearances for Curzon over the past decade and is nothing short of a club legend. His professionalism in the midfield has made him a fan favourite here at the Nash.

Stefan Mols:

Stefan joined the club this summer from NPL playoff winners Warrington Town. The dynamic Spanish midfielder has impressed fans throughout pre season with his ability and workrate.

Jamie Allen:

Jamie is a quick winger who loves to beat his man. He joined the Nash from Telford this summer and will be hoping he can have a better time at the Nash than he did in Shropshire.

Miles Storey

Miles joined Curzon from Hereford this summer. He's a pacey winger known for his ability on the ball. He's also the only man in the Curzon squad with European experience after playing for Aberdeen 3 times in the Europa League.

Harry Jessop:

Harry joined the club during last season before going to Farsley on loan for the rest of the campaign. However now he's back at the Nash, the young striker will hoping to kick on and start firing for the club.

Isaac Sinclair:

This will be the start of Isaac's second spell with the Nash after Mark Bradshaw originally signed him in the summer of 2019. Isaac made 28 appearances first time round, picking up 6 goals and assists. This time round however, he comes with much more experience after spending the past 2 years at Bamber Bridge.

Jimmy Spencer:

Jimmy joined the Nash in February 2023 and instantly stepped up to help elevate the Nash to new heights. His goals and assists were key in our late playoff push. If the Nash are to recreate our form from last season, Jimmy will be a key part of that side.

Coaching staff:

There have also been changes in the dugout ahead of the new season with Alex Brown leaving his role as assistant manager due to family commitments. He has been replaced with a fellow Curzon legend as Sam Walker has stepped up to take on the role alongside his playing commitments. Alongside Sam, Lakeland will have Jack Salkeld helping him as well as Kieran Bentley assisting the keepers as usual.
