Curzon currently find themselves 11th in the National League North. The Nash are currently averaging 1.4 points per game this season- our best ever at this level. This begs the question, is it too early for the Nash faithful to start dreaming of a possible push for the playoff places? Many fans around the club have started to believe that Lakeland's men have just what it takes to continue picking up crucial points as we enter the final month of the season.
In my previous piece, I mentioned how Lakeland and his staff had appeared to have turned a corner with the club and the gaffer has done nothing but prove that statement ever since. The team is gelling right across the pitch, from Renshaw in goal to Jimmy Spencer up front. The back 3 or 5, however you view it, has allowed Curzon to be more dominant in games as of late, something which hasn't happened in quite a while. It allows the Nash to progressively get up the pitch and into the feet of Peersy, Campbell and Spencer- and when Spencer gets the ball, there's usually only one result. Despite facing problems this season with injuries to key players like Sam Walker and Josh Hancock, Lakeland has consistently managed to find a way to adapt. The loan signing of young Northern Irish midfielder Dylan Boyle has looked like a master stroke from the gaffer so far with Boyle picking up numerous MOTM awards after his stellar performances alongside Barton in that midfield.
The Nash now have just 8 games left of the season to truly show the rest of the league exactly what we're made of. The main focus of everyone currently is to take it all game by game with the main goal of the club to achieve our highest finish in our 60 year history (11th in 2015/16). Lets hope that the lads can kick on even further now and make it a great end to the season. However, they do need your support. Make sure you do you best to get down to the tameside stadium for these final games to get behind the lads!
